Stepping into this new chapter is both an extraordinary honor and a profoundly moving moment in my life. I’m humbled to have been selected as the new Executive Director of Citizens Concerned for the Homeless. This mission has shaped my heart and guided my professional journey for many years, and accepting this role is something I carry with deep gratitude and a sincere sense of responsibility. I’d never have believed that my journey would bring me to this point, and finding myself here today is a humbling reminder of how far we can grow with support and encouragement from others, no matter our past mistakes or wrongs.
As I assume this role, my thoughts turn to the remarkable leadership of Jim Musial. His retirement marks the closure of an exceptional era. For 14 years, Jim led this organization and its team with unwavering integrity, steadfast compassion, and a profound belief in the inherent dignity of every person we serve. He built programs that transform lives, established and strengthened partnerships that uplift our community, and cultivated a culture grounded in respect, hope, and humanity.
For me, Jim’s departure isn’t just a professional transition… it’s deeply personal. Jim’s been both a friend and a mentor to me for many years. I wouldn’t be the person I am today, nor would my career be where it is, without his guidance, encouragement, and steadfast belief in me. When I couldn’t see my own potential, his faith in me pushed me toward opportunities I’d have never dared to pursue otherwise. That kind of support leaves an enduring imprint on one’s life and shapes the way one chooses to lead. As a result of Jim’s profound influence on my life, I’m committed to providing others with the same support and guidance he offered me, and I’m determined to lead in a way that upholds and honors his example. The impact he’s had on my life is something I’ll carry in my heart for the rest of my days.
As I begin this new chapter of my story, I’m deeply honored to continue working alongside Tammy Rosebaum and Nicole Mitchell. These remarkable women bring strength, wisdom, and genuine heart to everything they do. I respect them deeply and am grateful to have them on my team. I hold great confidence that, together, we’ll continue to grow CCH, expand our impact, and carry this mission forward with unity, purpose, and unwavering dedication.
Looking ahead, I’m committed to forging new community relationships and strengthening those we already cherish. Equally important, I hope to mend any relationships that may have been wounded in the past. I’m deeply aware that none of the work CCH accomplishes… none of the hope we offer, none of the lives we touch… would be possible without the unwavering support of our community members and partners. Our mission thrives because of collaboration, trust, and shared purpose.
